Five Star FG Falcon at Jarvis Ford

The all-new FG Falcon has become the first Australian-built car to receive a 5 (five) star rating from the Australasian New Car Assessment Program (ANCAP).

The petrol FG Falcon sedan range was awarded the maximum 5 (five) star safety rating rating with a total score of 34.6 points (out of a possible 37 points), giving it the highest score ever recorded by a locally produced car in Australia by a significant margin.

Team TRD Rally's Neal Bates has secured an historic fourth Australian Rally Championship following a measured drive in tough conditions in Heat 1 of the Coffs Coast Rally.

Bates and co-driver Coral Taylor finished eighth for the Heat and scored enough points to take the title on the penultimate day of the season.

However, heavy rain during the last two stages meant an anxious wait for the now four-time champions as they battled their way through the slippery, clay-based roads of the Coffs-area forests.

Second straight top ten Nationwide series finish for Ambrose PDF Print E-mail

Marcos Ambrose has finished inside the top 10 in the NASCAR Nationwide Series points standings for the second consecutive year following the season-ending Ford 300 at Homestead-Miami Speedway in Florida today.

Despite having a tough day behind the wheel of the #59 Kingsford Tailgate Ford Fusion of JTG Daugherty Racing, Ambrose’s 31st placing was enough to secure tenth spot overall in the standings.

At the start of the year Ambrose and his team set themselves two main goals for the year ahead – to win a Nationwide race and finish inside the top ten in the overall standings. Today, they completed the second of these goals.

Spectacular driving from Mark Winterbottom in Bahrain today kept Ford Performance Racing's championship hopes alive as he fought back from yesterday's setback.

Frosty was resurgent in the day's first race, making up eight places in the opening four laps and executing a perfect pit strategy to finish fourth, despite starting from 21st after a collision with Garth Tander yesterday.

In some of the best racing of the year, the top five cars diced for the entire 32 laps of the Gulf Air Desert 400's third and final race. The Orrcon Steel Ford Credit FPR Falcon was never out of the running but was just edged out of a podium for a second fourth-place finish.

Subaru of America wins residual value awards

Subaru of America, Inc. has received two Residual Value Awards from the United States Automotive Lease Guide (ALG). 

The 2009 Subaru Forester won the top award in the Compact Utility Vehicle category, while the Subaru brand collected an award as the second-highest brand for residual value. 

ALG's 10th annual Residual Value Awards, for the 2009 model year, honoured the vehicles in each industry segment that ALG predicts will retain the highest percentage of their original price after a three-year lease term.
