The 'Good for Country Footy, Great for Country Kids' program builds on Toyota's ongoing sponsorship of both the AFL and the Adelaide Crows Football Club and recognises the importance of the game as an integral part of rural communities.

Dual Norm Smith medallist and Adelaide Crows AFL star Andrew McLeod is the program's Ambassador, and is excited about his role in nurturing the grass roots development of Aussie Rules football in regional South Australia.

'Good for Country Footy, Great for Country Kids' application forms will be published in local regional newspapers from 15 April for a duration of three weeks.

Toyota Australia, together with the Toyota Rural Dealers of South Australia, have today launched a community-based initiative designed to help local junior football clubs across regional South Australia.

"The Toyota 'Good for Country Footy, Great for Country Kids' program gives kids the chance to earn valuable sponsorship funds for their clubs," said Michael Beros, Regional Manager Central Region, Toyota Australia.

The core objective is to invite players in the under-12s competition to explain in 50 words or less why their club should receive 'Good for Country Footy, Great for Country Kids' sponsorship.

Toyota country dealers will then choose at their discretion one or more local junior football clubs to receive the sponsorship funds.

The funds can go towards things like new footballs, first aid kits or training equipment.

"Nothing brings a country community closer together than footy," said Mr Beros.

" 'Good for Country Footy, Great for Country Kids' is the latest program that Toyota has launched to show our continued support of rural South Australia."
