Marcos Ambrose has turned in a solid performance by grabbing 14th place in the Camping World RV Sales 200 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway in Loudon, New Hampshire today.

The result is Ambrose’s 11th top 20 finish from the last 15 races and gets the Australian closer to the top 10 in the 2008 NASCAR Nationwide Series standings.

After entering New Hampshire 144 points outside the top 10, Ambrose now lies just 103 points away from 10th in the driver’s standings.

Ambrose qualified the #59 STP Ford Fusion in 19th position for the 200-lap race and had a steady race, ending with a solid finish.

Tony Stewart won today’s Camping World RV Sales 200 ahead of Denny Hamlin and Kyle Busch.

The 2008 NASCAR Nationwide Series heads to Daytona International Speedway next weekend for the Winn-Dixie 250 in Daytona Beach, Florida.

QUOTES – MARCOS AMBROSE

“It was a reasonable day for us,” said Ambrose.

“We fought hard and had a good strategy and stayed out of trouble – which is one of the things you want to try and do before the start of the race.

“t would have been nice to get a top-10 out of it, but we’ll take 14th and move on.

“We’re hanging in there. We’re in the middle of the main bunch, which is all you can really ask for.”
