Toyota wins four 4WD awards PDF Print E-mail
29/7/2008
Toyota vehicles have won four of the 10 annual 4WD awards announced in the August issue of leading magazine Overlander.

The publication said LandCruiser 200 Series is the best large petrol wagon in Australia.

It also said HiLux is the best diesel ute and LandCruiser Prado offers both the best petrol and best diesel medium wagons.

Toyota was the only multiple award winner, repeating last year's performance when it also won these categories.

Overlander said the LandCruiser 200 Series petrol wagon is a "do-it-all vehicle" that has "astonishing prowess in the bush".

The magazine praised the new KDSS suspension system as "nothing short of brilliant" and said Crawl Control was a feet-off control system that did "everything bar steer the vehicle".

Compared with its 100 Series predecessor, the new LandCruiser offers more performance, better economy, improved on-road refinement, enhanced safety and more off-road ability.

Overlander said the LandCruiser Prado diesel wagon was a great touring all-rounder with impressive off-road ability and a long list of practical virtues such as a 180-litre fuel capacity and generous payload.

The LandCruiser Prado petrol wagon has won its category in each of the Awards' five years.

"The V6 is smooth, quiet and refined to the point where you would expect this powertrain to be in a luxury car, not a 4WD," the magazine said.

HiLux first became a category winner in 2005 due to what the magazine said were new levels of performance, comfort and almost car-like refinement.

"Although subsequently challenged by newer rivals from all of its major competitors, it remains at the top of the game," it said.

At the time of purchase LandCruiser 200 and Prado owners are automatically entitled to Toyota Service Advantage capped-price servicing, paying just $180 each service for up to six standard scheduled services during the first three years or 60,000 kilometres of driving (whichever occurs first).*

Similarly, at the time of purchase HiLux owners are automatically entitled to Toyota Service Advantage capped-price servicing but pay just $150 each service for up to six standard scheduled services during the first three years or 60,000 kilometres of driving (whichever occurs first).*

*Toyota Service Advantage pricing represents the maximum amount payable for standard scheduled services, as per 'maintenance for normal operating conditions' outlined in the Warranty and Service Handbook's service schedule.

Toyota Service Advantage eligibility excludes Government vehicles, Rental vehicles and Employee Family Vehicle Finance vehicles. Certain other exclusions apply. Terms and conditions apply. Contact your Toyota Dealer for details of eligibility or visit advantage.toyota.com.au.
