Five Star FG Falcon at Jarvis Ford
The all-new FG Falcon has become the first Australian-built car to receive a 5 (five) star rating from the Australasian New Car Assessment Program (ANCAP). The petrol FG Falcon sedan range was awarded the maximum 5 (five) star safety rating rating with a total score of 34.6 points (out of a possible 37 points), giving it the highest score ever recorded by a locally produced car in Australia by a significant margin. Forester retains top spot |

6/11/2008 The new generation Subaru Forester has retained its position as the country’s best selling SUV Compact, according to official VFACTS sales figures released today.
Subaru sold 1147 Foresters in October, making it the best-selling SUV Compact for the month and year-to-date.
YTD sales of 11,979 Foresters place it 16.1 per cent ahead of the same period last year.
Combined Forester and Outback sales maintained Subaru’s status as the best-selling SUV Compact brand.
Sales of 112 Tribecas gave it a best ever October result, up 20.4 per cent over the same month in 2007. Tribeca sales are now 24.6 per cent up YTD.
Impreza sales of 835 placed it 7.0 per cent up year-to-date.
Sales of 336 Libertys and 278 Outbacks took Subaru’s sales for the month to 2708.
Subaru sales are now 1.5 per cent ahead year-to-date in a market that has declined 0.9 per cent. |

Toyota first to export 100,000 cars |
19/12/2008 Toyota Australia is set to become the first Australian carmaker to export 100,000 vehicles in a calendar year.
The milestone car is due to be shipped from Melbourne on Christmas Eve, bound for the Middle East.
It will be among more than 2,100 Australian-built Toyota cars leaving Australia that day aboard the Positive Leader. |
